Logan Hodgson, age 17, is a senior from Sierra Madre, CA ó a dual enrollment student at Pasadena City College.
Logan began his cello studies at age two with his mother, Trina Hodgson. He currently studies via Skype with Tanya Carey in Chicago.
Logan has won numerous solo competitions; most recently he won first place with MTACís VOCE solo competition and best competitor overall.
Logan has participated in numerous summer chamber music festivals both inside and outside the country, including El Festival Internacional Suzuki del Perķ, Rocky Mountain Summer Conservatory, and Credo Summer Chamber Music at Oberlin Conservatory. Closer to home in Sierra Madre, Logan collaborated with two other cellist to form a trio, BravoCelli!, to play for local festivals and church events.
Additionally, he has participated in Pasadena Conservatory of Musicís chamber music program, where he has performed in concerts and competitions.
His current piano trio, Melojam, just won first in the VOCE ensemble competition. On top of instrumental performance, Logan has a growing interest in musical composition.
Logan is eager to explore the fields of mathematics, physics, and computer science at Westmont College in the fall.
