AUDITION REQUIREMENTS

  • One major and one minor scale, metronome 60–100. (Strings play 2 to 4 notes to a bow.)
  • A solo piece of your choice
  • The required excerpts for your instrument, following all directions and markings on the pages. The number of excerpts required are different for each orchestra and for some instruments.
  • Harpist and percussionists need to play a solo and excerpts only.
  • Overture String Orchestra applicants are required to play one scale and a solo piece. Overture applicants may use single bows on the scale. Excerpts are not required.
